Google Now Introduction

WELCOME TO GOOGLE NOW

Google Now is a personal assistant function for Android devices.  Similar to Siri, you ask the function a question and it provides you with an answer.  According to the Google Now website, “Google Now works in the background so you don’t have to. Your information is automatically organized into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. Because Google Now is ready whenever you are, you can spend less time digging and more time living.”  Unlike Siri, Google Now provides information to you without interaction.  “Google Now delivers the information you care about, without you having to search for it. When you choose the cards most relevant to you, Google Now learns how to help manage your day, letting you focus on what matters.”  You can find more information about Google Now here: http://www.google.com/landing/now/#

The LCDI plans on generating data using Google Now on a Nexus 5. We plan on analyzing the phone for evidence that Google Now was used to check websites, used by different browsers if possible, and looking for evidence of voice and typed messages sent using Google Now. After generating data on the phones, we will image them and look for evidence that Google Now was the originator of the data and how it appears to allow for a better understanding.
