The Senator Patrick Leahy Center for Digital Investigation (LCDI) is pleased to announce that the Computer and Digital Forensic Programs at Champlain College have been named as a finalist in SC’s Magazine, SC Professional Awards. SC Awards are given to honor professionals, companies, and products that help fend off security threats confronted in today’s corporate world.
Champlain College is a finalist for the Professional Award in the category of Best Cyber Security Higher Education Program. According to the SC Magazine, this award is given to the “best cyber security undergraduate or higher education program which currently has a cyber-security degree program. These are for schools throughout the United States and qualification is based on the quality of instruction, programs and how well these prepare students for the marketplace.” The competition includes other colleges such as: Iowa State University (for Cyber Security Education Program), Kennesaw State University (for Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Security and Assurance), and the University of Maryland University College (for Cyber Security Degree and Certification Programs). Champlain College is the only small private school nominated with Computer and Digital Forensic B.S and M.S degree programs.
The LCDI is proud to have a majority of our student-staff taking courses in the Computer and Digital Forensic Programs. The winner of this award will be announced on February 26, 2013 in San Francisco, CA.
