Since opening in 2010, The Leahy Center has become the central hub of digital forensics and cybersecurity at Champlain College.  The mission of The Leahy Center is to serve as a practical and hands-on environment, promoting the advancement of digital forensics & cybersecurity education at Champlain College and in our community. Most importantly, the Leahy Center is a place for the next generation of specialists and engineers to learn, grow, and hone their talents. As a Champlain College Center for Excellence, students have the chance to gain real-world experience by working in a professional-level lab.

Students work in teams, under the direct supervision of faculty members, a project manager, and a director to complete a project from start to finish. The company also severs to provide all Champlain College majors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels the opportunity to get involved in our intelligent data work. Students working in the lab gain experience by working in a real digital forensic & cybersecurity lab, and putting their major-related skills to work. By providing all majors the opportunity to work at the Leahy Center we are able to implement new ideas in business, communications, and information technologies, thus helping to innovate the arena of digital investigation & cybersecurity

Through innovative research projects and outreach initiatives, The Leahy Center provides communities (local, state, and national) information resources for digital investigation/cybercrimes, a credible and neutral source of information resource, and acts as a professional development hub for Champlain College students, faculty, and staff.
