Above and Beyond at the LCDI

ABOVE AND BEYONDWelcome to the new year! The LCDI has picked out multiple exciting projects to focus on and we are looking forward to sharing them with all of you.

During Champlain College’s orientation weekend, members of the Class of 2019 and their families were presented with a common message: this is the place to go above and beyond. And nowhere is that more evident than at the LCDI.

The LCDI currently employs 55 students representing every class and 10 majors. In the past four weeks, 16 new students have been hired and student employees have already logged 767 hours in the lab. There has been a lot of work in such a short period of time.

Just in the month of September, LCDI students have begun work on 10 research projects. Each of these projects will be documented on the blog throughout the semester, but I want to take the time to recognize a few of our projects that truly go above and beyond here at the lab.

Some of the projects we are going to look at are Windows 10 Forensics, MMORPG chat systems, and IoT—Internet of Things.  We believe that these projects and others will keep the LCDI at the forefront of the cybersecurity and digital forensics industry. Here’s to a great, and productive, semester!

Keep coming back for more blogs and updates to these projects!
