On Monday, February 4th Dan Gortze from Dell SecureWorks came to Champlain College to speak to both the CNIS and DFA clubs about several job openings, and to explain what Dell SecureWorks does. The positions that they are currently hiring for are entry-level consultant positions. Dell has clients spanning the globe, so their consultant positions involve hours of traveling. Dell is becoming more involved in providing services to customers as well as continuing to provide hardware. These services include incident response, which is one of SecureWorks’ areas of expertise. There is a wide variety of incidents that Dell SecureWorks responds to,including Denial of Service attacks, external compromises, insider threats, phishing, and credit card data loss. Dell SecureWorks doesn’t just come in after an incident has occurred, they also can help companies prevent incidents from happening by identifying deficiencies in current policies and procedures. They can also run through mock incidents to make sure that the policies and procedures that are in place work as expected. Dell SecureWorks is returning to campus to conduct interviews for two entry-level positions, at a date to be determined. Seniors should consider applying for these two positions. The directions for applying are on Jobspot through Champlain College Career Services.
